Thoughts

Yikes! This short collection of excerpts from Boccaccio’s Decameron gave me all I needed to know that I don’t have any desire to read the full work. I’ll say that I can appreciate Boccaccio’s writing ability and his place in the canon of literary classics. The description of this book is “four hilarious and provocative stories from Boccaccio’s Decameron, featuring cuckolded husbands, cross-dressing wives and very bad priests.” I’m not sure about hilarious, but these stories are provocative for sure! Not really my cup of tea, thank you very much.
