Thoughts

Short but far from simple, Aphorisms on Love and Hate offers classic Nietzsche in concentrated form — witty, biting, and uncomfortably insightful. These brief reflections dig into the messy psychology behind our noblest (and pettiest) emotions, exposing the self-interest, vanity, and contradiction lurking behind love, hate, friendship, and morality.

While the aphoristic style can feel scattershot, it also lends itself to re-reading and reflection. Some entries struck me immediately; others lingered, slowly unpacking themselves in my mind hours later. It’s not a linear or cohesive argument, but it doesn’t need to be — this is Nietzsche planting thought-bombs in your brain.

Ultimately, I found it engaging and intellectually stimulating. Not every aphorism resonated, but the ones that did made the whole thing worthwhile. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.
