The Tattooist of Auschwitz (The Tattooist of Auschwitz #1)

    November 12, 2024

I'm not exactly sure this qualifies as a meet-cute, but it is a beautiful story. Also a little weird that my first romance read is set in the Holocaust...

Chasing New Horizons: Inside the Epic First Mission to Pluto

    October 1, 2024

I'm sure for a lot people, they don't have that "I remember where I was when we saw the first images of Pluto." But I do. I was at work, watching a live NASA feed as they released the first high resolution images of that most distant planet, er, dwarf…

    The Penguin Book of Hell

    June 29, 2024

Do people often tell you to go to Hell? Is it actually quite common? Like, more common than you'd like to admit? Do you not really have a lot of context for where exactly Hell is? Well then, this is the book for you!

    Becoming

    February 18, 2024

For my second Black History Month 2024 pick, I chose an audiobook by a black author, read by that same author. I tend to try to go about life without getting too political, but I'm also fascinated by people who come to fame through politics. I've always been interested in…

My Rating Scale:
5 stars:
Superb! Couldn’t put it down! Will read again! Can’t recommend this one enough!
4 stars:
Great! Really enjoyed it. Maybe a few issues, but I definitely recommend and I may read it again someday.
3 stars:
Good. I enjoyed it, but maybe there were issues or something missing. Glad I read it but probably won’t choose to read again.
2 stars:
Not great. Not the worst book I’ve ever read, but I’d have a hard time recommending it and I highly doubt I’ll choose to read this again.
1 star:
Ugh. Did not like it at all.
DNF: Did not finish. I won’t rate it because that’s not really fair since I chose not to finish it.

Sometimes I’ll watch movies that are adaptations of books and review those with a sort of compare/contrast kind of thing.

I’m a CPA and work a lot. I’ll try to update this as quick as I can when I finish a book. Mainly because if I wait too long, I’ll probably forget what the book is even about…

And if this is your first time here, and if you’re really that bored, you can read my very first post here!
