The Asteroid Hunter: A Scientist’s Journey to the Dawn of our Solar System

    September 10, 2024

Another pick for the Planetary Society book club. And what an amazing pick this was! Who knew that a journey to a lifeless rock somewhere between Mars and Jupiter would be interesting?! This author understood the assignment!

    Lonesome Dove (Lonesome Dove #1)

    August 21, 2024

Dern. This here is a tragedy. An epic tragedy, I reckon. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone said "reckon" in this 858 page tome. Oh, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I really, really did not like the character of Lorena...

    Spiral (Ring #2)

    July 16, 2024

Dust off your VCR, grab that unmarked tape, and press Play. You're about to get... what's that?... The tape is extinct? How does a tape go extinct? So is it a DVD now?... No, it's a... what?!

Takedown (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

    July 13, 2024

Picard and Riker have always worked well together. So what happened? Did the promotion to Admiral get to Riker's head? I mean, sort of, I guess... But how is Picard supposed to stop his old protege when he's always a step (or more) behind?

The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration

    May 19, 2024

This is a book that I picked for Black History Month 2024 by looking at what books other black authors thought were powerful. This one stuck out to me when I saw it. And I'm so glad I picked it up! As far as non-fiction books go, it's always nice…

    Becoming

    February 18, 2024

For my second Black History Month 2024 pick, I chose an audiobook by a black author, read by that same author. I tend to try to go about life without getting too political, but I'm also fascinated by people who come to fame through politics. I've always been interested in…

My Rating Scale:
5 stars:
Superb! Couldn’t put it down! Will read again! Can’t recommend this one enough!
4 stars:
Great! Really enjoyed it. Maybe a few issues, but I definitely recommend and I may read it again someday.
3 stars:
Good. I enjoyed it, but maybe there were issues or something missing. Glad I read it but probably won’t choose to read again.
2 stars:
Not great. Not the worst book I’ve ever read, but I’d have a hard time recommending it and I highly doubt I’ll choose to read this again.
1 star:
Ugh. Did not like it at all.
DNF: Did not finish. I won’t rate it because that’s not really fair since I chose not to finish it.

Sometimes I’ll watch movies that are adaptations of books and review those with a sort of compare/contrast kind of thing.

I’m a CPA and work a lot. I’ll try to update this as quick as I can when I finish a book. Mainly because if I wait too long, I’ll probably forget what the book is even about…

And if this is your first time here, and if you’re really that bored, you can read my very first post here!
