    Firewall (Star Trek: Picard)

    February 27, 2024

February 2024 sees the release of David Mack's newest Star Trek novel set in the Picard era - Firewall. I had the opportunity to talk with the author about the book on the Literary Treks podcast, so definitely check that out! For more of my standalone thoughts, keep on reading…

The Light Fantastic (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

    February 13, 2024

If that looks like Data in Dr. Soong's body on the cover of the book, that's because it is. And Lal too?! What is this? I'll tell you what it is. It's Star Trek storytelling at its finest. If you're looking for Easter eggs, callbacks, and fan favorite characters, look…

Tower of Babel (Star Trek: Enterprise: Rise of the Federation)

    February 12, 2024

Long after the end of the series Star Trek: Enterprise, Admiral Jonathan Archer is working to bring in new members to the newest gang this side of the Galactic Center, the United Federation of Planets. We heard about various planets in the Rigel system and we've even seen different variations…

The Art of the Impossible (Star Trek: The Lost Era, 2328-2346)

    February 12, 2024

We covered this book on the podcast, Literary Treks. It's part of the "Lost Era" series (mini-series?) and takes place between the apparent death of James T. Kirk (Star Trek Generations) and the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Who is that on the cover, you ask? Could…

My Rating Scale:
5 stars:
Superb! Couldn’t put it down! Will read again! Can’t recommend this one enough!
4 stars:
Great! Really enjoyed it. Maybe a few issues, but I definitely recommend and I may read it again someday.
3 stars:
Good. I enjoyed it, but maybe there were issues or something missing. Glad I read it but probably won’t choose to read again.
2 stars:
Not great. Not the worst book I’ve ever read, but I’d have a hard time recommending it and I highly doubt I’ll choose to read this again.
1 star:
Ugh. Did not like it at all.
DNF: Did not finish. I won’t rate it because that’s not really fair since I chose not to finish it.

Sometimes I’ll watch movies that are adaptations of books and review those with a sort of compare/contrast kind of thing.

I’m a CPA and work a lot. I’ll try to update this as quick as I can when I finish a book. Mainly because if I wait too long, I’ll probably forget what the book is even about…

And if this is your first time here, and if you’re really that bored, you can read my very first post here!
